Food sources
Most of the pantothenic acid in animal tissues is in the form of coenzyme A. it is widely distributed in animal foods. Whole grains, legumes, liver, yeast, egg yolk, and meat.

Functions
Pantothenic is involved in proper skin growth and nerve function and in maintaining the health of the adrenal glands. Like other B vitamins, it is essential for the breakdown and release of energy from carbohydrates, fats and proteins.

The RDA for pantothenic acid is 4-7 mgms/day.
