Toxicity of Zinc
Toxicity by zinc is extremely rare. In case of occurrence, it follows inhalation of zinc fumes, oral ingestion, or intravenous administration.

Signs and symptoms

Inhalation of zinc oxide fumes leads to metal fume fever manifested by fever, chills, excessive salivation, headaches, coughs and leukocytosis.

Prevention and treatment

Discontinuation of the mineral will help in reversing the toxicity caused due to zinc.
