Chakrasana

This asana resembles a circle when it is performed. Hence it is named Chakrasana. Stand straight, with your feet 9 to 10 inches apart. Raise yours hands and slowly bend towards the back, making a curve of the body. When your hands come to your hip level at the back slowly bends your legs at the knee. Touch the ground with your hands. Perform this asana slowly keeping the balance.

For novice and old aged the same asana can be performed in another way. Lie down and keep your palms by the side of the head. Raise your body above making a curve of your body bringing your heels near your palm on the ground Practice slowly.

Gradually try to hold your heels with your hands. This is an excellent asana for people who want to make their body strong and active.
Practicing this asana invigourates the stomach, back, waist, thighs, and knees. It is the best remedy for all diseases related to spine. It also improves digestion and cures all diseases of the abdomen.
