Shavasana

Shavasan.gif (1828 bytes)  Lie flat on your back on a carpet with hands by your side.  Keeping the legs together put heels together and toes apart.  Relax your body muscles and breathe slowly. Let your head tilt  slightly on any of the side. Close your eyes and do not think of  any thing. Since this position resembles a dead body, this asana  is called shavasana.
Shavasana should be performed after all the other asana as it  relaxes the body muscles.
It is beneficial for people suffering from heart ailments. Shavasana provides mental solace and resistance to diseases.
