Homoeopathy
(Coming Soon) |
| The aim of Homoeopathy is to cure
an illness or disorder by treating the whole person rather than merely concentrating on a
set of symptoms. Based on the principle of similia similibus curentur (like
cures like), homoeopathy proves that the agents that cure the cause of those very symptoms
when used in extremely diluted form. Hence, in homoeopathy the approach is holistic, and
the overall state of health of the patient, especially his or her emotional and
psychological wellbeing, is regarded as being very significant. A homoeopath notes the
symptoms that the person wishes to have cured, but also takes time to discover other signs
or indications of disorder that the patient may regard as being less important. The
reasoning behind this is that illness is a sign of disorder or imbalance within the body.
It is believed that the whole 'make-up' of a person determines, to a great extent, the
type of disorders to which that individual is prone and the symptoms likely to occur. A
homoeopathic remedy must be suitable both for the symptoms and the characteristics and
temperament of the patient. |
