Whole grains, nuts, beans and dark green leafy vegetables are all good sources of magnesium.

Functions
Magnesium is necessary for every major biological process in the body including the production of energy from sugar and the manufacture of genetic material. It is important for muscle contraction, nerve conduction and blood vessel tone.

Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA)
The RDA for a normal adult male is 350 mg, while for a woman it is 250 mg.
